🇹🇭 So already 100 newsletters! When I started writing the newsletters back in December 2021 I had a premonition that things were about to change significantly in the world in general. I wanted to document what I saw going on around me and also to share what wisdom I have and acquire that may be useful to others who are similarly awake to the evil nonsense that is being done by governments and their corporate henchmen around the world.

With hindsight, my premonitions were well grounded. Shortly after starting the newsletters Hong Kong went into full lunatic mode with citizens being threatened with incarceration in hospital ships in Victoria Harbour and with basic freedoms and rights being withdrawn by force and coercion. I was right to foresee that HK was about to get the full Covid experience in 6 months - whereas until then (for 2 years) nothing at all had happened, except the usual winter deaths from flu (average age 81 and all claimed to be Covid) and HK has the best life expectancy in the world.

V and I decided to opt out of the madness and to travel to where people and their governments are at least somewhat more sensible and less tyrannical and that is what we have been doing ever since. Nowhere is perfect but as we have discussed jurisdictional arbitrage is an important tool to have in your toolset.

So too is the ability to preserve wealth and savings in what is coming. It should be clear to you that Western Debt-Based currencies are government-mandated Ponzi schemes that you are forced to participate in. Recall The Sovereign Individual and how the state is the entity in society that has the monopoly on violence; it is a parasitic entity that consumes the savings of its citizens by coercion and establishes a privileged few who lord over the population to maintain control. This is equally well explained in Murray Rothbard's Anatomy of the State. I have shared with you how debt-based money works and how it is inevitably failing. We have also discussed the alternatives and what you can do to exit the Ponzi.

In any Ponzi Scheme - first out, best out - get out before the collapse!

In the Project Update section, every week I describe positive steps that I and others are taking to build things that will be useful going forward. Feel free to join in, collaborate or support us on any of these.

So - how have I done? What have you appreciated most? Anything that you disagree with? Do let me know and I am happy to discuss and suggestions are welcome. What have I missed?

Thanks to all those subscribers who have reached out to discuss topics and share their own insights over the years. I have enjoyed those discussions and I think we have all learned as a result.

I know there's a lot in each week's newsletter: consider them like weekend magazines - you do not need to read each one all in one go - and you can always go back to bits that you found interesting and enjoyed - older newsletters are on the website.   Like any good magazine - you can also share with friends!  Translations available too in: Spanish, Dutch, French, Italian, German, Serbian, Croatian, Chinese Traditional & Simplified, Burmese, Irish (Gaelic), Russian and Thai

Keynote of the week

I would never have expected to be featuring an address to the WEF up front in my newsletters - even less in any sort of positive context - but this translation from Spanish of President Javier Milei's recent address is a Must Watch

Some highlights, extracted for you:

Good afternoon. Thank you very much. Today I'm here to tell you that the Western world is in danger. And it is endangered because those who are supposed to defend the values of the West are co-opted by a vision of the world that inexorably leads to socialism and thereby to poverty.

Unfortunately, in recent decades, motivated by some well-meaning individuals willing to help others and others motivated by the wish to belong to a privileged caste, the main leaders of the Western world have abandoned the model of freedom for different versions of what we call collectivism. We're here to tell you that collectivist experiments are never the solution to the problems that afflict the citizens of the world. Rather, they are the root cause....

Given the dismal failure of collectivist models and the undeniable advances in the free world, socialists were forced to change their agenda. They left behind the class struggle based on the economic system, and replaced this with other supposed social conflicts, which are just as harmful to life as a community and to economic growth.

The first of these new battles was the ridiculous and unnatural fight between man and woman.... All that this radical feminism agenda has led to is greater state intervention to hinder the economic process, giving jobs to bureaucrats who have not contributed anything to society. Examples: ministries of women or international organizations devoted to promoting this agenda.

Another conflict introduced by socialists is that of humans against nature, claiming that we human beings damage the planet, which should be protected at all costs, going as far as advocating for population control mechanisms or the bloody abortion agenda.

Unfortunately, these harmful ideas have taken a strong hold in our society. Neo-Marxists have managed to co-opt the common sense of the Western world, and this they have achieved by appropriating the media, culture, universities....

The case of Argentina is an empirical demonstration that no matter how rich you may be or how much you may have in terms of natural resources, or how skilled your population may be or educated, or how many bars of gold you may have in the central bank, if measures are adopted that hinder the free functioning of markets, free competition, free price systems, if you hinder trade, if you attack private property, the only possible fate is poverty....

Today, states don't need to directly control the means of production to control every aspect of the lives of individuals, with tools such printing money, debt, subsidies, controlling the interest rate, price controls, and regulations to correct so-called market failures. They can control the lives and fates of millions of individuals....

A good deal of the generally accepted political [positions] in most Western countries are collectivist variants, whether they proclaim to be openly communists, fascists, Nazis, socialists, social Democrats, National Socialists, Democrat Christians, or Christian Democrats.

They are neo-Keynesians, progressive, populist, nationalist or globalists at bottom. There are no major differences. They all say that the state should steer all aspects of the lives of individuals. They all defend a model contrary to the one that led humanity to the most spectacular progress in its history.

We have come here today to invite the rest of the countries in the Western world to get back on the path of prosperity, economic freedom, limited government...and unlimited respect for private property....

The impoverishment produced by collectivism is no fantasy, nor is it an inescapable fate. But it's a reality that we Argentines know very well. We have lived through this. We have been through this because, as I said earlier, ever since we decided to abandon the model of freedom that had made us rich, we have been caught up in a downward spiral, as part of which we are poorer and poorer day by day....

In concluding, I would like to leave a message for all businesspeople here and for those who are not here in person but are following from around the world. Do not be intimidated, either by the political caste or by parasites who live off the state. Do not surrender to a political class that only wants to stay in power and retain its privileges.

You are social benefactors. You are heroes. You're the creators of the most extraordinary period of prosperity we've ever seen. Let no one tell you that your ambition is immoral. If you make money, it's because you offer a better product at a better price, thereby contributing to general well-being.

Do not surrender to the advance of the state. The state is not the solution. The state is the problem itself. You are the true protagonists of this story and rest assured that as from today, Argentina is your staunch, unconditional ally.

In case you need another (and my) perspective on all of this - Jeff explains:

Jeff explains the Bitcoiner perspective on all of this - listen and learn

And yet another take comes from Arthur Hayes: Capital must stay within the system to inflate away the vast pile of unproductive debt. Bitcoin is outside the system and now exhibits zero to a slightly negative correlation with bonds (remember, bond prices fall when yields rise). The global financial system collapses if bond vigilantes express their dismay with government bonds by selling them and purchasing Bitcoin and other cryptos. It collapses because the inherent losses being nursed within the system are finally recognised, and large financial firms and governments will have to reduce in size radically.

🛠️ Project Updates

This week I am featuring a couple of items on Bitcoin and Nostr development followed by a couple of rather useful finds that can improve your security online.

Satoshi Square 10th anniversary

It was a busy week for me but I made time to get along to the 10th anniversary celebration of the Satoshi Square bitcoin meetup here in Bangkok. I had a great evening and met up with a few really interesting folks. Bitcoiners are the most intelligent and interesting people that you will meet around the world. Also the cocktails were just the best - see here - so clever!

Level-headed discussion

Following up on last week's discussion on Bitcoin Scaling and Covenants I was delighted to find this interview of NVK by Preston. I appreciate and share NVK's take that whilst covenants (in their various forms) seem interesting we must be immensely cautious about making any changes in Bitcoin Core. As you know my preference is that Core developers would focus on on-chain privacy - for example aggregated signatures as we discussed last week. Scaling options should be verified on and with Level 2 solutions.

Meanwhile in Madeira

Since the beginning of this year there is a cohort of 20 developers on the island, beavering away on open source development in Bitcoin and Nostr. This culminates in the Bitcoin Atlantis conference at the beginning of March - will you be there?

Disposable Browsers and more

These next two are things that I am testing and using daily.

First up is SquareX. This is an amazing tool. Unlike existing products, SquareX allows you to open any suspicious file or website (including those with real malware) on remote servers with absolutely zero chance of getting hacked. This is done by giving you a completely sandboxed environment that allows you to browse using their cloud servers and also to open and view material on those servers. All of this happens in disposable windows, all trace of which disappears when you close them.

Click above then scroll down to the videos for examples of how it works

For using this, you do not need to use the Chrome Extension - rather you can get the full functionality in the WebApp with the additional benefit that this works in both Brave and Safari. Also, whilst they offer sign-up using Google and Microsoft accounts they allow sign-up with email; you can and should use a disposable email address.

Next up is a super-informative review of the current VPN providers. Mullvad and iVPN top the list. An additional benefit of Mullvad is that it can integrate seamlessly with Tailscale, my preferred overlay network and accounts are anonymous with payment using Monero or Bitcoin.

The following are links from my NetNewswire feeds - learn, enjoy and share.

End the UK's membership of the WHO

I am putting the most important link up front. Just do it - it takes 1 minute.

Neil's walk and talk

Neil is currently here in Thailand - now up in Chiangmai after 2 weeks in Bangkok. Check out his latest take on the current events - I think he nails it on most.

Truth for the Commoner

Marty has also spotted what's going on and he describes it in his recent article rather clearly

WEF Goes Full Throttle on Totalitarianism
Klaus Schwabb and his team at the World Economic Forum are hosting a meeting of the most corrupt and delusional of minds to brainstorm about how they can con the global public into accepting Totalitarian policies that will erode civil liberties and sovereignty.

Marty is pretty clear on what he sees

Meanwhile in Amsterdam

And then Mark was recently in Amsterdam where he gave a plenary address explaining how the current monetary system is failing and what you might want to do to exit the Ponzi before it is too late.

Click for Mark's address to Bitcoin Amsterdam - you need to know this

And over in Sweden

In other news, it seems like Swedes are starting to push back on the nonsense. What are you doing in your country?

The new right-wing government is dismantling the goals outlined by the UN.

Encouraging news from Sweden - it has to start somewhere...

Surprising opinion you might agree with

For all the politicians, and the voters, who babble on about how much they love our "sacred democracy," NONE of them actually means it.

Click and Larken will explain it to you with clear examples

Larken wrote the story behind "The Jones Plantation" - recall we discussed this back in Issue 77 in August. He is also launching a modern version here:

🤔 Closing Thoughts

Fasten your seatbelt for this next one. You may or may not know that there used to be 360 days in the year - and hence all the early key measures were based on 360 and multiples/fractions thereof (12, 24, 36, 72, 90, 180, 720, 1040 etc). This is well documented in original and historical documents dating before the 8th Century BC - now we have 365.24 days - so what happened, when and what does that mean?

Some facts that Jason will explain and demonstrate - with authoritative sources:
 The length of the year changed suddenly in 713 BCE
 All civilisations before 8th century BCE recorded a 360 day year
 After 8th century BCE 5.24 days were added to the year
 1st time Polaris is found as pole star in historical record is after 713 BCE
 Chinese, Indian, Near Eastern zodiacs invented AFTER 713 BCE
 Precession said to be discovered by Hipparchus 150 BCE
…. but "his writings are lost"
 Precession is only a theory, called the Luni-Solar Theory
 Precession remains unmentioned by all astronomers till 17th century AD
 34.5 degree distance between Thuban and Polaris is a Phoenix number
 Ancient World pole star was Thuban [Alpha Draconi/Eye of Draco]
 No reference to a 26,000 or 25,920 year cycle ANYWHERE before 19th century
