155 - Back in Bangkok

155 - Back in Bangkok
Looks like a Charm Offensive under way...

🇹🇭 V and I are now back in Bangkok. We made the right decision to travel back to Holywood for a bit and to give priority to family and friends there. We are now happy to be back home in SE Asia and we have the rest of our 2025 plans ahead of us.

We plan to be back in Holywood at the end of March for several family birthdays, before heading on to Palma de Mallorca to enjoy some European spring weather and see our friends there. How are your plans for 2025 going?

I have really had an action packed 10 days or so. It has been great to have quite a few meetings with Newsletter Subscribers and quite a few bitcoiners, both in Belfast and here in Bangkok. We have been discussing my projects and they also have project ideas of their own - how interesting...

Our travel back was quite smooth, if somewhat arduous, taking more than 24 hours door to door - two lost days due to the timezone differences. We were up early in the morning and drove to Dublin; it is certainly easier than taking the bus. After a lazy afternoon in the airport the flight to Qatar was OK, arriving after midnight local time. We got to "enjoy" the Doha airport facilities overnight for our connecting flight departing 0900 that arrived in Bangkok 1900 local time. Our luggage was first off the flight (luck happens sometimes!) and we had a car waiting to take us back to our apartment.

The weather here in Bangkok is fairly warm - up to 37 degrees most days but at least it is not humid like Hong Kong. Warm as it is we certainly prefer this to being cold in Northern Europe in the winter! For those who wonder - there are 3 seasons in Bangkok: Hot season (now, November thru March, Very Hot (April,May) and Hot & Wet (June thru October).

Videos of the week

I got quite a bit of positive feedback from Chase's video in last week's Closing Thoughts. Since some of you may have missed it down there, I'm putting it here, up front. If you did not watch it yet, do so - if you did watch it you will be surprised how much more you see when you watch it again!

Click to watch - this is fascinating - do not skip it!

After that, this next video is rather fun and informative. If you ever thought that it was necessary to be a talented artist to make visually compelling and helpful messages you will think again after watching this next one.

🛠️ Project Updates

This week I have again been rather busy with family priorities and travel, so I have no hands-on updates but some seriously interesting technical updates.

Taproot Assets - revisited and explained

I have talked about Taproot Assets (previously known as TARO) before. Check back in Newsletters #68 and #88. This week I came across this rather good explainer by Matt K. Listen and learn. I view this as additional optionality on the Bitcoin Network and it has the potential to facilitate much more trade and transactions using bitcoin as the underlying asset - this has the potential to replace the banks and middle-men in international transactions. For me, this is all net positive - just like Lightning and Chaumian eCash. WDYT?

What a fun weekend project - The cleverest Dumb Phone

I have shared quite a few videos about people who are fed up with smartphones and who have taken steps to switch to dumb phones (often the Nokia 3110). Well Ben has done so and taken things to a whole new level - watch, listen and learn.

What is different with his setup is that he carries his dumb phone with him but he does retain access to some more interesting features by leveraging communication back to his home computer.

How interesting - click to learn more

I particularly liked his discussion around Google Maps and directions. For sure he is right: it would be much more interesting to have just high-level directions with milestones instead of the turn-by-turn that modern systems give and he demonstrates how you can get this.

Fascinating and this opens up so many weekend project possibilities!

The following are links from my NetNewswire feeds - learn, enjoy and share.

Apple has become IBM (again!)

The video explores the parallels between Apple and past tech monopolies like IBM and Xerox, arguing that success leads to a focus on marketing at the expense of product innovation. Apple's reliance on flashy marketing has neutered its ability to truly innovate. What is remarkable is that the voice you hear at the start is Steve Jobs when he rejoined Apple in 1997, twelve years after having been fired in 1985. How intriguing that those words should also apply to Apple again today!

Jason also sees it and nails it

This week I came across Jason Lewis and his take on so-called "Apple Intelligence" (or lack thereof) put a big smile on my face. TBH - while Apple is uniquely dreadful in this area, the whole deployment of AI technology into mobile devices is something that nobody has asked for and I am sure that everyone will regret. Since the older ("dumb") phones lack this surveillance and control capability the Empire has resorted to making older phones impossible to buy and also to rendering otherwise fully capable devices useless by disabling the 2G and 3G networks. Recall our discussion on this two weeks ago.

Apple is uniquely dreadful in this respect

USAID - worse than anything we have seen before

Neil has been doing some open-source public detective work like thousands of other researchers who now have access to the data exposing the (almost) unbelievable fraud that is USAID. Those of you who have been following this newsletter ought not to be surprised and you are likely aware that this is just the tip of the iceberg. Lots more will follow and not just in the USA.

Pay attention - John D Bates - it is all interconnected and in your face

Be careful. Exposé's like this will certainly cause widespread outrage that so much money can be squandered so profligately - however this is part of a psychological operation (psyop). You are witnessing Problem-Reaction-Solution in action.

Peter confirms that USAID is but the tip of the iceberg

After exposing the problem and stoking the reaction of outrage - next will come the "Solution" that was always planned. Of course they will say that the only way to stop things like this is yet more and stricter KYC and AML. These are all lies and it is well past time to push back and not accept or comply with such nonsense.

Recall that we are now in the time following the breaking of the second seal when many things get unveiled.  The word "apocalypse" originates from the Greek word "ἀποκάλυψις" (apokálypsis), meaning "unveiling".

In other totalitarian news

This latest action by the UK government ought to make you stop and think. How can it ever be justified that the government should want access to every citizen's data and browsing history. Oh yes - they will say it is necessary to prevent things like USAID!

Totalitarianism explodes in the UK

Recall that we have seen this before (WWII) and many have subsequently wondered "How could this happen?". The answer is rather simple and you have already lived through it recently with the Covid Crimes.

First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a socialist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
~ pastor Martin Niemöller

Eric helps you understand

For many of you this may be a step farther than you have gone before but consider that the Moon Landings are now proven to be a hoax and a lie. Then reflect on what else from NASA might also be false. BTW - recall that NAShA (נָשָׁא) is Hebrew for "to deceive" or "lead astray". Just a coincidence?

Listen to Eric's clear argumentation and explanation

Indeed as Eric explains, once you pull on the thread it just keeps unravelling.

🤔 Closing Thoughts

A couple of closing thoughts for this week. Firstly I have another update on the Monroe Institute Gateway Process. After that is a fascinating short video from Dan on Ingersoll Lockwood's books. You may well have heard of this before but Dan takes things to the next level, adding some unique insights. Don't skip Jordan's "dates for your diary" at the very end.

Michael Phillip - back from his seminar

You will recall that I am following and using the Gateway Process tapes. I have found this to be a most interesting and beneficial experience on many fronts. In researching this I have found many others who have done likewise. In recent months Monroe Institute has been inviting some of them to attend their onsite training courses in Virginia USA. Listen and learn as Michael recounts his recent experience.

Recall our discussion on this topic back in Newsletter #145

If you are intrigued by this and want to go deeper, I suggest that you can start by reading the declassified Gateway Process Documentation.

You likely do want to download and keep this PDF. Take your time to read it. You will be surprised.

Ingersoll Lockwood - how interesting...

Did an obscure novelist from the 1890s predict the rise of Donald and Barron Trump? And did Back To The Future predict 9/11? In this video Dan looks at the phenomenon of artists and writers who seem to have uncannily seen the future in their work, and consider an astrological explanation for what’s happening.

One other topic that he discusses in this video is HG Wells book The Time Machine. Recall that we too have discussed this book and possible implications - check here to refresh your memory

Dates for your diary in 2025

I suggest that you might want to note these dates in your diary for this coming year. Expect to see significant developments on and around these dates. Click below to learn more and for further corroboration and likely implications check Jason's videos in recent months: they are summarised here.
