172 - Showtime, likely soon

πͺπΈ Hot and sunny this week in Palma. For sure we are getting into the summer season here. There are plenty of cruise liners calling here and every morning waves of tourists buzz through town in swarms behind their "leader" with a sign-on-a-stick.
It's funny - when you live in N Europe everyone is complaining about the cold and rain. When you live in S Europe everyone is complaining about the sun and the heat. The realisation that you get is that these are both surprisingly similar in that they both limit what you can or want to do on any day. You do not want to go out because it is cold and raining OR you do not want to go out because it is too hot and sunny! Life is like that!
Meanwhile on the global stage it does seem like showtime is approaching. There are many threads that are developing and ripening and for sure the harvest will come. Be alert for False Flag events and agents provocateurs in a town or city near you; they can be very emotive and convincing - at least at first sight. Remember not to participate in the nonsense - opt out at every opportunity.
How could you have known?
This week I have been re-reading The Sovereign Individual. It was written back in 1997-1998. The writing style is a delight to read and the insights that they share will blow your mind.
I only discovered the book back in 2012 when I moved to Hong Kong and since then I keep getting drawn back to re-read and check sections. Each time it seems ever more prescient and obvious. How did we not see all these things before? Well, you can certainly see them now if you look around.
This time I have been reading the book while listening to the audiobook - this is an excellent way to absorb the wisdom within. If you get only one medium, get the audiobook.

Chapter 2 introduces the concept of "Megapolitical Transformations" - this reminded me of "Psychohistory" in Isaac Asimov's Foundation. A most significant attribute is that people do not recognise that they are in a crisis or transformation until after it has completed and the historians tell them! This can take years or even decades! Sound familiar?
Chapter 4 explains to you how Governments and Nation states emerge as well as how and why people accept what is being done to them by the ultimate parasite. This independently corroborates all that you read in Anatomy of the State. Read it and your eyes will be opened. You will understand how the siren-calls of "democracy" inevitably lead to coercion by and submission to the organised crime that is The State. BTW: Plato also explained this over 2000 years ago!
Chapter 5 is an extensive academic explainer of all of the forms of restriction, violence and coercion that the state (aka Organised Crime) can and will exert to control its population. It makes for depressing reading, but: now you know.
Chapters 6 and 7 forsaw that digital technology would challenge traditional nation states. You will learn many other things like cybercash, digital nomads, flag theory, juridictional arbitrage etc. To be seen if they are right on Decentralisation of Power, Erosion of Coercive authority and Rise of Micro-jurisdictions.
For those who are wondering, we are currently living through the events described in Chapters 8 thru 10. I'll not give you any spoilers here - do read the book ...or just look around you or watch the TV!
Many other insightful authors have warned too on the current situation. Among them is Neil Howe - indeed I have been discussing this with a few of you recently. Here is an excellent summary that he gave 8 years ago - to those who would listen. You will find that he is right on pretty much everything he says.

If you are too impatient or need the TLDR, this girl does the best summary that I have seen in just 8 minutes - enjoy! All the world is a stage.

Once you are awake to all this there is lots that you can do - I will continue to share tips and tricks that many have found useful; and you may too! You might be surprised that you already have everything you need.

π οΈ Project Updates
This week I am focusing on tools that you should be aware of. You may or may not want to use such things now but there will come a time when you do. It is good to be aware of the options and to have installed and tried them out in a moment of calm before you need to use them in anger or for real! What are you doing?
Ad-free viewing
You may well have noticed that Google is getting more aggressive on pushing Ads into youtube. The latest push seems to be targeted at people who are using alternative browsers (than Chrome) that still support Manifest V2. You should recall that we have discussed before how Manifest V3 is a devious attempt by Google to neuter the capabilities of Ad-blockers and that this does fundamentally reduce your security since scammers will exploit this. Everything that Google claims about this "being for your safety" is a blatant lie.
Assuming that you want to avoid weakening your security controls, the best option does seem to remain Brave Browser with uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger installed and active. Also Orion Browser from Kagi (currently Mac/iOS only) is most interesting since it built on Webkit (not Chromium) but it does support Chrome extensions like uBlock Origin with Manifest V2 support. Grok did a comprehensive comparison here. Mullvad browser (being based on a fork of Firefox) is yet another one to keep in mind. Bottom line - you have options - recall that we also discussed them here.
For additional backup you probably want to have a copy of FreeTube - it is straightforward to install and very easy to use. You can also donate to support them. You do need to take time to add in your subscriptions but you only need to do this once and you might even use this as an opportunity to omit and drop those that you no longer want to see!
An excellent open source app to know and support
Another great app to have and know about is Grayjay. Grayjay enables you to watch video content on your own terms, fully retaining ownership and having control over what you watch.
Fabulously useful app - buy it to support Louis, the creator - license is valid on all platforms
There are so many interesting features in this app that works on desktop as well as Android/GrapheneOS phones. Not least is the ability to follow creators across multiple platforms - eg YouTube, Odysee, Rumble, Bitchute etc. You simply install the plugins for whichever platforms you like.
Lastly - you likely want to have a copy of yt-dlp. This is a free, open-source, command-line tool designed for downloading videos and audio from YouTube and over 1,700 other websites, including Vimeo, Dailymotion, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitch. It is a fork of the older youtube-dl. Released under the Unlicense, yt-dlp is available for Windoze, macOS, Linux, and Android (via Termux), making it highly versatile.
yet another excellent and very useful utility
Even if you do not make daily use of these today you likely to want to have a copy and to know how to use them if/when you need. That time will surely come.
A tour of the ecosystem
I highly recommend this recent interview of Seth by Matt. Seth is rather well-known in the privacy space and, as he says, is hated-on by both the Bitcoin and Monero maxis. As such, he may well be on the right track. You will learn a lot from this interview - take your time and listen. Do not allow yourself to be triggered or switched off by specific terms - rather listen to understand and learn. You can thank me later.

This is a fantastic interview. For sure they do not agree on everything but it is a pleasure to hear these topics discussed so openly and to hear all perspectives.
Interview of the week
I am including this in the Project Update section since it is largely Bitcoin-related but I highly recommend that everyone should listen to it. Jack is 31 years old and already the CEO of two multi-billion dollar companies. He is outspoken on many issues and is well worth listening to. This is a great interview by Saifedean. There is no stopping this train.

Marty was triggered too
I had already planned the content for this week's newsletter when I came across Marty's recent blog. He was similarly triggered to write about The Sovereign Individual. He comes at this from a slightly different angle and you will learn yet more by reading his take below:

Click to read - he is likely right
A statement of the obvious?
Dan also has some timely thoughts to share. You may be tempted to skip this as "a statement of the obvious" but Dan does explain all his reasoning. You will learn about the 84 year cycle and what has happened on each of the previous three incarnations. The cynic might say - this is the same as the Fourth Turning - maybe so AND remember that there are no coincidences. In addition, he cites some additional cycles that you likely want to understand and keep in mind.

And a couple of dates for your diary, later this year. Interesting times...

Mario explains
With reference to some rather good books (and recommended reading) Mario explains to you what is happening and what is coming. As Ludvig wrote in his book, this has happened before - eg The Continental in 1781, the Mandats Territoriaux in 1796, the German Mark in 1923 - not to mention many "developing" nation currencies meanwhile. Can you see it yet?

Recall that we did discuss the German situation quite recently. Read more here.
It seems pretty clear now
Techlead is outspoken as ever. Challenging as you may find this, he is likely right on many points although you probably do not want to follow his leverage suggestion - this demonstrates fiat-mindset. Interesting developments too in HK and SE Asia - this does also rather support Simon's analysis.

Same script, different locations
Nury reminds us that we have seen this movie before. Funny thing too is that the same actors are involved. Remember that such things are instigated and escalated by "agents provocateurs". If you are there yourself you will see them if you look for them. In HK they were not that hard to spot and the same agents were spotted doing the same thing in Bangkok a few months later, stirring up protests there. Look and you will find - albeit not on the TV reporting!

BTW - Neil also sees this, as he explains here. Further developments here. For those in Belfast and Ballymena, Katie is there and explains what is happening.

Agents provocateurs will turn any peaceful protest violent and the media ignores all peaceful protest, reporting twistedly only on the instigated violence.
π€ Closing Thoughts
A couple of closing thoughts this week. Jason takes Archaix to the next level - it is really impressive. And I have a follow-up on last week's insights into Spanish history - also fascinating.
Archaix 4.0 - it's time!
Jason has really taken things to the next level with his recent launch of Archaix 4.0. These are scripted talks that he gives, citing dozens of authoritative sources that you are invited to check yourself. Recall that I have showed you how you can access such sources via Anna's Archive.

After that, you likely want more - you can watch Episode 2 here.
Meanwhile in Spain
I know that some of you enjoyed last week's insights into the real history of Spain. This week you get to see part 3 of that series. Who knew that there were no less than 3 World Fairs in Spain and that two of them even ran concurrently!
