215 - Santa Catalina - for a bit

🇪🇸 We are settling in. Discover how Frigate enables silent bitcoin payments, Lyn Alden on currency debasement, Eustace Mullins on the Federal Reserve (and Murder by Injection) and why cashless shifts signal deeper control. Plus life in Palma, lunar nonsense and Huxley on propaganda.

215 - Santa Catalina - for a bit
La Casa al Revés - Palma de Mallorca

🇪🇸 We are really enjoying being back in Palma. The weather is fantastic (much better than Belfast and nicely cooler than Bangkok) and we have settled quickly into our usual routine here. We are staying in Santa Catalina district - so it is pretty central and close to everything.

I am back to doing daily yoga, occasional Tai Chi and we have our daily afternoon swim at the Tennis Club. Looking forward to meeting up with friends and bitcoiners here (meetup next Wed at Ventura) - maybe see you there!

On our first day here V and I did a nice walk along the waterfront all the way to Playa de Palma and a little bit further. Coming back we found that the bus tickets have changed and you need to use Visa/Mastercard. This is also a change that is being implemented in Bangkok for public transport there. Clearly this is part of the bigger plan of The Empire to eliminate cash and control all transactions - there are no coincidences.

Considering all the distractions that are playing out at the moment, I have to share this interview and related items with you this week - these are the things that they are distracting you from and they do not want you to understand.. First up is a superb and very timely interview of Lyn Alden by Peter McCormack - listen and learn. This is followed by a short summary of Eustace Mullins' book on the Federal Reserve and I round out with explainer on How the House always wins.

The System is Rigged
In this wide-ranging discussion, financial analyst Lyn Alden and podcast host Peter McCormack explore the mechanics of the modern financial system and why most people fail to recognize the slow-motion collapse underway. The conversation reveals uncomfortable truths about how currency debasement systematically transfers wealth upward while remaining largely invisible to

Superbly clear messages from Lyn - I also recommend her book, Broken Money

After that, go on to listen to this short summary of Secrets of the Federal Reserve by Eustace Mullins from 1983. He independently corroborates all that you read in The Creature from Jekyll Island. You can listen to the book club discussion on it here. BTW - Eustace also wrote "Murder by Injection" - needless to say, this is particularly relevant to explain what has happened in recent years.

Then take a few minutes to read this next one. This is a fascinating discussion of the Israel/US war on Iran from several perspectives.

  • At the architectural level, the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and central banks operate a secret coordination network. This system, rooted in money creation as debt, aims to eliminate 'leakage' from a global financial control system, with Iran being a key node outside this network.
  • The 'casino' model suggests that while individual conflicts are real (UFC-like), the underlying financial architecture ensures that institutions like the BIS profit regardless of the outcome, akin to a casino owner taking a cut from every game.

🛠️ Project Updates

One project update this week. It's an important one since it significantly improves access for mobile users to technology that gives strong privacy for Bitcoin transactions. What are you doing?

Frigate: Silent Payments Go Mobile

Why it matters: Bitcoin privacy just took a major step toward usability. Anyone who is self hosting and/or running their own Bitcoin node should certainly look into running this.

Craig Raw, the developer behind Sparrow Wallet, announced Frigate, an experimental server that makes Bitcoin silent payments (BIP352) practical for mobile wallets for the first time. Silent payments let you receive bitcoin to a unique on-chain address every time, even though senders only need one reusable address.

The privacy upgrade eliminates address reuse without requiring interaction between sender and receiver. The bottleneck has always been the computational cost of scanning the blockchain. Frigate solves this with high-throughput scanning via DuckDB, hitting 40 million operations per second on GPU hardware. Bitcoin privacy just went from "technically possible" to "actually usable."

Principles of Economics 4

Lecture four defines labour as purposeful activity for output, contrasting it with leisure and production.   It builds on the material of the previous 3 lectures

  1. Human Action â†’ established what economics studies (purposeful human choice)
  2. Value â†’ explained how humans evaluate options (subjective, marginal)
  3. Time â†’ revealed the fundamental constraint (mortality makes time scarce)
Principles of Economics 4
This lecture explores labor as the fundamental way humans economize, distinguishing it from leisure and examining its relationship with production, capital, and economic systems. principles of economics lecture 4Click for the full transcript of the lectureprinciples of economics lecture 4.txt37 KBdownload-circle Defining Labor and Leisure Labor is defined as

Among other things, you might be surprised that lecture 4 argues that unemployment is caused by government interventions like inflation and minimum wage laws, not inherent market features and critiques the Marxist labor theory of value by asserting that value is created by both labour and capital, with capitalists contributing by foregoing consumption to provide capital goods.

How blatantly ridiculous does it need to be?

On April Fool's Day, NASA officially launched their Artemis 2 rocket, claiming to take humans back to the moon in 2026. Going back to the moon, however, would require us having actually gone there before, which Eric and many other researchers have debunked beyond any shadow of a doubt, showing that the original NASA moon landings were faked in a studio on Earth.

This would seem to be just another part of the "Bread and Circus". The Empire is deploying "everything, everywhere in full force" at present to distract you from the real problems - the broken money, mindless wars, impending reset and totalitarian clamp down. Remember: "Iran is the new COVID".

Apple is thoroughly dishonest and lying in the UK

Apple falsely claims "UK law requires you to confirm you are an adult to change content restrictions." This is absolutely not true and is made up by Apple just to justify their action. This is part of the creeping Totalitarian Fascism that is being rolled out in the West (and variants elsewhere too). It is past time to wake up.

Click for a clear summary and explainer how to work around these restrictions

Note too that Apple has removed "Advanced Data Protection" for all UK users. Even through Apple subsequently won a court case against the UK government over encryption backdoors, they "made a deal" and agreed to keep this user protection disabled, rather than re-enable it for UK users. This means iCloud backups, photos, iCloud Drive files and even Safari bookmarks are no longer encrypted, potentially allowing government access.

You want to be very wary about allowing any software updates - this is also why you want to remain on older devices and why many are moving to GrapheneOS instead. Note that Apple is also very nefarious in trying to get you to perform an update even if you have turned off automatic updates.

How crazy is this?

At 4 AM on March 31, 2026, I woke up to my phone blowing up with notifications. The Claude Code source had been exposed, and the entire dev community was in a frenzy. My girlfriend in Korea was genuinely worried I might face legal action from Anthropic just for having the code on my machine — so I did what any engineer would do under pressure: I sat down, ported the core features to Python from scratch, and pushed it before the sun came up.

Click for Josh's analysis - you will be amazed

This is not an April Fool Joke. Anthropic's own actions (confirmation, take-downs, retraction) show it was a genuine human/packaging error. The timing was coincidental (or unlucky) and some code comments referenced April 1–7 rollout windows for "fun features" like Buddy, which fueled speculation. But reports from Bloomberg, LA Times, Ars Technica, PCMag and others all treat it as a real accidental leak due to a very sloppy build process.

And in case all that was not enough, now you have this too! Whether it is (entirely) true or not, it will be used to justify further tightening and restrictions.

🤔 Closing Thoughts

Closing out this week with three related items from Aldous Huxley. You should know him from his Brave New World novel from 1931. In it he envisaged a World State, inhabited by genetically modified citizens and an intelligence-based social hierarchy. The novel anticipates large scale psychological manipulation and classical conditioning that are combined to make a dystopian society which is challenged by just one individual who does not take the Soma.

Later in his life he did give some rather insightful interviews that are well worth listening to. First up is this interview from 1958.

Aldous Huxley - world in 1958
This 1958 Mike Wallace interview with Aldous Huxley offers startlingly prescient analysis of threats to freedom that resonate powerfully today. Huxley argues that modern tyranny will differ fundamentally from the terror-based dictatorships of Hitler and Stalin—instead, future authoritarians will secure power by making people “actually love their slavery” through

Future tyrannies will make people "actually love their slavery" by psychological manipulation

Then listen to this prescient warning (from 1961) about what he saw coming. If you look around you now you will recognise much, if not all of this.

Huxley - Dark side of pleasure
The transcript explores Aldous Huxley’s warning that pleasure—not pain—could become the most effective method of social control in modern societies. Opening with Goethe’s observation that “None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free,” the document contrasts Orwell’s vision of overt tyranny with Huxley’s

Wake up! Pleasure, not pain, is the most effective tool for social control

"There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda, or brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods."
~ 1961 speech at California Medical School - "The Ultimate Revolution"

And finally, one to ponder upon. He also gave a rather interesting interpretation of the Dancing Shiva statue outside CERN. He describes the "Dancing Shiva" image (Nataraja) of the Hindu tradition and its immense significance and comprehensiveness. You are likely aware that there is a lot of discussion about the real purpose of CERN and if you look you will find footage of that strange nighttime ritual around the statue.

Dancing Shiva
Aldous Huxley argues that Western civilization has never produced anything as comprehensive as the Dancing Shiva (Nataraja)—a bronze statue from South India depicting Shiva with four arms, one foot raised, dancing within a flaming circle. The official explanation as to why this statue is there is beyond strange - watch it yourself and then you decide:

The offical explanation This Shiva statue was actually a gift (gifted earlier in 2004) when India became an Associate State Member of CERN in 2017, and it’s given by the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. But many of you know that this was a gift from India, but
