92 - December in Bangkok

๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฐ ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ We had one last excellent weekend in HK and then travelled down to Bangkok for the winter. We plan to be here for a bit - so if you are in town do say "hello!" We had a really great time in Hong Kong and whilst the weather there is still OK during December, January and February in HK tend to be a bit grim (absence of sunshine). No shortage of sunshine here in Bangkok!

Bangkok does feel a but quieter than before and there are headlines about tourists not coming in the numbers they had hoped for. Likely too their greedy tinkering with the tax system for foreigners will also make many think more than twice. As we have discussed before, things are playing out pretty much along the lines of Chapter 10 of The Sovereign Individual with jurisdictional arbitrage and nations eventually trying to compete to attract and retain mobile talent and wealth.

This week there were a few festivals in town with Loy Kratong and also the grand opening of EmSphere here on Sukhumvit. This is a vast shopping complex, just opposite to EmQuartier at Phrom Phong MRT station. They have also built a rather spectacular sky-walk to get to it directly from the station without having to descend to the world of the mortals at street-level! Apart from that, there are Christmas trees and decorations everywhere and on a grand scale - much more than in Hong Kong - despite Thailand not celebrating Christmas.

Podcast of the week

This week I was delighted to have been pointed to a podcast series by a subscriber with whom I have had many interesting discussions over the past months - thanks! This podcast has connected many pieces that I was aware and convinced of and it does it in a delivery style that is designed to be most widely accessible. The style is a bit too popular for me but each episode really is packed with fascinating facts that are all substantiated with references to academic research and no less than 50 in-depth interviews that you can watch in full on his website.

Perhaps you always imagined your consciousness was in your head - think again:

Click here for the podcast series - I binged on them all while Island hopping and hiking

  • 1: Looking in the Telescope - pay attention to the analogy of one stream of consciousness, everything being connected and whirlpools
  • 2: Blindfolded - note how indeed brains are wired differently and they may even be getting in the way!
  • 3: Telepathy - lots of well-documented examples, including from your pets. Perhaps you have also experienced these as premonitions or "just coincidence"
  • 4: CIA Psychic Spying - evidence of remote viewing and how this has been used by governments and military
  • 5: Near-Death Experiences - many examples - do listen to first hand reports. There are hundreds of well-documented examples and children are especially likely to remember verifiable details from former lives.
  • 6: The Life Review - plenty here to reflect upon - especially on interconnectedness and its consequences
  • 7: Mediumship and Reincarnation - academic studies and plenty of evidence
  • 8: Revolution - "It's time for us to wake up." Indeed... imagine if...

So - what do you think? Have you ever experienced or wondered about any of the above? Do let me know - happy to discuss.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Project Updates

The following are updates from some projects that I am following, supporting and collaborating with. What are you doing?

Streisand effect

Google seems to have backed off (for now at least) on their ill-advised war against adblockers. There is plenty of evidence that this severely annoyed many consumers and creators alike and drew attention to the fact that ad blocking is possible causing more people to adopt it. Not only is it possible but it is desirable to block ads since Google does not adequately control the ads that it displays forcing them on people provably causing malware infections leading to all sorts of negative consequences for the affected users - not to mention the human and societal damage being done by a constant feed of adverts.

IT Security experts have been pointing out for years the dangers of adverts displayed in browsers and it is simply good practice to disable them. That said, the empire disagrees and wants to force feed you its propaganda, stealing your time and wealth while indoctrinating you with its evil agenda. Most who are awake will agree that too many lines have been crossed.

This latest foray of the the evil empire encouraged me also to look into tools and techniques that can help protect you. Discovery of the week is FreeTube.

Click for the best YT viewing experience

If you have not yet tried this, give it a go. You will be amazed at how simple it is to set up and how you can become completely independent of the algorithm and have full and unfettered access to material without risking malware infection and worse.

Yes - this is open source and you can review the code and even fork it and modify it to suit yourself! FreeTube uses a built in extractor to grab and serve data / videos. Theย Invidious APIย can also optionally be used. FreeTube does not use any official APIs to obtain data. While YouTube can still see your video requests, it can no longer track you using cookies or JavaScript. Your subscriptions and history are stored locally on your computer and never sent out. Using a VPN is highly recommended to hide your IP at all times - a good suggestion here is Mullvad.

Coinos - easy way to receive retail lightning payments

This is a fantastically simple idea and it is already in use around the world by hundreds of vendors. You simply consider each bitcoin transaction as Cash and the app will print out a cash-receipt ticket for the amount and it can be handled by the staff at the till just like cash payment.

Absolutely the easiest way to receive bitcoin payments

Listen to the full interview of the creators by Matt - who asks many interesting questions, the answers to some of which may take a while to uncover.

I can easily imagine variations of this (for example just using an iPad or a simple server listening for transactions) and will be checking this out closely.

ArchiveBox - getting serious

I often go back to check and re-read parts of previous newsletters. For some time now, I begin to see broken links that used to work. You can imagine there are various reasons for this, including all the bad ones. I want to have full and complete archives of the website and all referenced material.

This week I bit the bullet and got thoroughly into using ArchiveBox. This is an absolutely fantastic piece of open source software. I have to say that it is not software for casual use or beginners but it is amazing what it can do. It is solid enterprise-grade software and is even used by journalists and investigators to make and keep historical records for subsequent forensic analysis.

My first use is to build an archive of my own website and the things that I link to. This seems to be THE WAY to do it. It enables me to create archives of the website that include all of the linked pages and also even downloads copies of the videos that I link to. This is GREAT! For now, I am building this for own personal use - in time I might make it accessible. If you do find any broken links on the website - do reach out and let me know - these can often be found and recovered through other archive services.

Getting the settings and options correctly selected takes a bit of work and I am still refining things to avoid unnecessary archiving (eg translations of the website) and to optimise things. If you have used ArchiveBox I would love to hear from you - do reach out and let's share experiences and tips.

Always remember - the State is not benevolent

Gsovereignty does a rather important little explainer: In this presentation he explains Bitcoin's underlying security model, how it subverts the State, what the State can (and will likely) do to fight back, and the phases that this conflict will go through. He says it like it is.

What's involved?

I have got to recommend Chris' latest channel - this is a recent example of what he publishes. I have met him several times here in Bangkok and his commentary here is 100% spot on!

Maverick is likely spot-on

You have got to admire Maverick for his persistence and consistency. He does also talk a lot of sense even if you might not like the message.

Perma-bear perspective - he may well be right

Facts and figures - the empire hates the truth

James was recently attacked for pointing out the lies being told by the Algorand CEO when she was interviewed on mainstream propaganda. In this blistering response he presents all the data. Open your eyes and understand the corruption and lack of integrity that is all around you.

Counting the days?

Listen carefully to what George says and explains. By now you will realise that mainstream channels are gaslighting you with propaganda while the empire is busy distracting you with unwanted wars (not to mention false flags) and locking the exit doors of the traditional financial system to keep everyone locked inside when it burns down. George explains rather clearly why you can expect something big to happen by March or April of 2024. Maybe you heard it first here.

Fables - there's more to them than you imagined

Listen as Neil recounts a fable - that of the Old Man and his Sons and the bundle of sticks. You have more in common with those around you than you might think - do not let yourself be divided against your fellow humans. You will certainly understand this if you followed Mark Gober's podcast above.

You know the fable already - you never appreciated how important it is

Click below to read the fable yourself. You likely do remember this from when you were a child. Like so many fables that we all heard over the years the truth now hits you in the face.

๐Ÿค” Closing Thoughts

Considering what is currently happening in Middle East, you might well want to inform yourself about some history that was certainly not taught to you. Jason tells you the history and provides pointers to original material of the time that you can use to verify and check. See also Jason's Chronicon for supporting details on the all dates that he mentions.

The true backstory of the Crusades is one of avarice and greed of the Church of Rome. There was never a goal to liberate Jerusalem. Both Christian Europeans and Muslims of the Middle East got played by the same people over a long period of time and in the end it was the Church that participated in, and grew rich from, the intrigues. Jason calls this dark history the Psyop of Edessa. This is especially important and relevant to what you will be told by the media in the months ahead about what kicked off last month in Israel.

Jason's latest livestream is on another level. He has been going through over a hundred original books and alchemical treatises of 15th through 18th Century with some rather interesting findings. These do seem to fully substantiate many of the arguments that he has been making on the world today.

Also at 48m Jason also independently corroborates the genocide of the Cathars by the Catholic Church in the Albigensian Crusade that we talked about last week.

Whatever you may think of Jason, it is remarkable how well read and informed he is and how he connects and interprets these elements that are hidden in plain sight. If you have not looked into Jason's work before this is not a the best place to start. As he explains, this episode is for those who already have a foundation of his work.
