37 - After the eclipse
🇹🇭 This week we had Loy Kratong Festival. This is celebrated every year here in Thailand on the evening of the Full Moon. Many of the other Southeast Asian countries celebrate it too. The name could be translated as "to float ritual vessel or lamp," and comes from the tradition of making krathong or buoyant, decorated baskets, which are then floated on a river. Many Thais use the krathong to thank the Goddess of Water. There has certainly been an overabundance of water everywhere here recently!
This year the festival coincided with the second total lunar eclipse of the year - more on that below.
It has been really good for us to be here in southern Thailand recently. We have really enjoyed the environment and new contacts here. Phuket is an Island and you will know that we are keen on island life - recent locations being Madeira, Mallorca and Malta, not to mention Ireland. Up until this year our 10 years on HK (also an island) was about the best that I can remember; regrettably the madness there seems to be persisting.
The economy here in Phuket is pretty much tourist-based; this has pros and cons.
On the positive side:
- Thailand is rather welcoming to tourists and even for those looking to stay here longer
- The people who come here tend to be awake to the nonsense elsewhere and actively seeking something different - as such there is an interesting community of open-minded people who bring plenty of experience, ideas, energy and insights from elsewhere
- You have all possible and desirable facilities readily available - including warm weather, nice beaches, good accomodation, shopping, gyms, yoga, good transportation, money exchange as well as good, affordable medical and dental services
- It is an island with a track record of having more reasonable policies than the rest of the country and many other places - this is as foreseen in The Sovereign Individual (Chapter 10 is currently in play) and what we noticed this also on other islands - eg Madeira.
- There is plenty of local produce and local markets and shops abound - it is largely a cash economy that does not really depend on imports. You ought to be able to understand why this is important.
As to the cons:
- the economy is largely dependent on the tourist market and so subject to any changes up or down
- the nonsense elsewhere is making this quite a desirable location and economics-101 dictates that prices go up with higher demand and fixed supply!
- inevitably not everyone who comes here will have pure motives and to be seen to what extent enclaves get established
We have achieved most of the goals that we set for being here and have enjoyed our time here. We have had plenty of relaxation, time for us and time to work on our projects and priorities as well as meeting interesting and open/like-minded people.
This week I went back over Aleks' article The Remnant, The Parasite & The Masses and his reading of the article. You should also check out Part 3 - a game of thrones or listen to him reading it here.
Remember that as Remant, you can be sure of only two things:
- the Remant exists
- they will find you
I have certainly found this to be true. Everywhere we have been this year I did meet other Remnant; it is good to share notes and future collaborations may well emerge. I am not spending any effort trying to wake people up - rather my focus is on helping and collaborating with those who are awake or wakening and are keen to build forward together. One part of that is the Bitcoin and Money education that I am sharing and happy to discuss - check out the segments in Issues 33, 34 and 35 and reach out if you have questions or want to chat.
I aim for this newsletter and website to be a handy reference that you can use and refer back to and also useful to refer others to. Do let me know if you have questions or suggestions - comment below.
CBDCs - Do not say nobody told you
I have got to recommend Arthur Hayes latest article - Pure Evil.
Do click above and read the article - it is hard to be optimistic since:
- The Wholesale Model CBDC will be launched in all major economies and...
- genpop is too busy liking the latest dance video on TikTok to wonder first why their physical cash disappeared, and then why their financial sovereignty was openly taken from them
What really makes the CBDC future a potential hellscape is the fact that governments never stop at the most innocuous use case for a technology when pushing that technology to its limits might benefit them. Instead, they go all out. And when wielded to their full capabilities, CBDC’s can be used by the government to directly control who is allowed to transact and for what and this will be abused.
Grace also pointed this out in her video of two years ago - interesting to rewatch now with 2 years of additional knowledge and hindsight.
This week Guy was "fact checked" (later withdrawn) - but this should serve as a wake up call. In case this is too hard for you:
- the character below (a NPC) can only see the benefits of CBDCs
- in fact there are many more serious disadvantages and drawbacks - not to mention fundamental concerns of human rights - recall what we discussed back in Issue 9. Some people do not want that to be known or discussed - no debate.
🎓 Reading, listening and learning
Below are some interesting sources that I came across, or was reminded of, in the past week - for your enjoyment and edification.
Podcast of the week
In a remarkably clear and straight-talking interview Dr. Aaron Kheriaty discusses how the health and medical industry has become a public health apparatus that has become militarized against you the population. The definition of “public health” has continued to expand to include social justice (eg BLM) and environment (eg climate lockdowns) which is a dangerous trend. He discusses how Digital ID and CBDCs will lead to totalitarianism and touches on the religious aspect of the New Abnormal (eg scientism, neo-Gnosticism, transhumanism). There is clearly a perfect storm arriving with crises and emergencies emerging everywhere concurrently.
Aaron's book The New Abnormal: The Rise of the Biomedical Security State traces the roots of the medical tyranny we’ve been experiencing recently. Postwar principles of medical ethics (eg Nuremberg Code) were completely abandoned in 2020.
This is also now being openly recognised even in the UK (more here) and Europe via Christine Anderson MEP - do watch and listen.
Also good to see that eyes are being opened to the "unconstitutional" manipulation of information and censorship by the "powers that be" to stifle and avoid any debate or dissent. Neil explains here and do check out the links for yourself.
Dr Suneel Dhand in the US demonstrates the implications of the above censorship. Surely this is not acceptable?
Good that this now comes out in the open - clearly things are moving on to "the next stage"; how this develops will have serious consequences for humanity.
Max also shares more insights in another of his "walk and talk"s. Birth rates dramatically down and so many "suddenly died". As he says, next step is to recognise this and hold accountable those who have done it. You may find some of his comments go rather far but do listen to what he says and make your own informed decisions - check facts and references as needed. Look at the big picture - and Max does share good life advice (around 50m).
So what about the eclipse?
We had the total lunar eclipse on Tuesday. This was the second eclipse of the year - the previous one in May coinciding with the collapse of Terra Luna crypto-currency and plenty of collateral damage that ensued. By all accounts this eclipse was supposed to herald dramatic turn around and change as well as revealing much that was previously not known. So you might wonder if it is purely coincidence that Alameda, FTX and its FTT currency crashed on this eclipse.
FTX
The FTX debacle sounds remarkably similar to the Celsius debacle that emerged after the Terra Luna crash. Do recall that back in September 2021, Alan Farrington explained - "Only the strong survive": Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 - or here if you prefer one uninterrupted read. Original paper here.
Despite the title, Arthur is not speechless - but rather clear on what happened and how.
We are clearly into a new phase and more will be said in subsequent weeks. By the way - do not be confused; Bitcoin is fundamentally different from cryptocurrencies like CEL (of Celsius) and FTT of FTX - that are proof-of-stake and can be created at will (just like Fiat money today). If this is not yet completely clear to you go back to what we discussed last week on Digital Scarcity.
🤪 How curious is this - rituals or what?
Did you happen to catch the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games? Me neither since it happened on my birthday and I was otherwise, better occupied! You can watch the entire thing here - it did go on for hours!
More likely you would rather have an extract and possible explanation - try this and if you have a better or alternative explanation do please say.
This is far from the first time that some apparently absurd ritual would be performed on such a grand scale in public. Recall what we discussed back in Issue 32 on the opening of the Gotthard tunnel.
Not to mention the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics - full version - or you might prefer the extract and potential explainer here - DYOR.
Remember that back in Issue 8 - we discussed the Economist "World in 2019" and what it was "predicting" - you can link through there to a video explainer from Christine Lagarde, no less! The imagery should be even more meaningful and obvious to you now with nearly 3 years of hindsight. Can you see it yet?
One might wonder: What could be the plan for the 2024 Olympics in Paris and between now and then?
