Bitcoin, Nostr & AI
The world of AI creation has reached creatives and content creators. As an artist and former graphic/media designer and documentary film maker and animator, I always know exactly what I want to see. The challenge over the last 15 years since art school has been the technical side. In a world that relies increasingly on systems, simply creating something that looks good isn’t enough but a system alone isn’t sufficient either; it’s the combination of tech and design that truly delivers. My fascination with systems that grant us humans more freedom—yet can also be used against us—has been there since a young age. Questions always pop up, and I think that’s the artist’s mind: question and create.
Now we’re entering the AI era it’s fascinating to see what we can build with almost no programming knowledge required. A developer might view it differently, just as a designer critiques AI-generated art and design. But whatever your field, the world is shifting fast.
Bitcoin and Nostr have been my go to platforms for a couple of years now—to get paid for my art and share it publicly. I save and spend in Bitcoin, and get rewarded on Nostr through zaps (small Bitcoin amounts). Everything’s decentralized and powered by proof-of-work. Now, with AI coming to Nostr—especially through the @soapbox team and their #shakespeare program—creatives like us non-devs can finally add systems and technical features to our designs. Where we once needed to collaborate with developers, we can now just ask an AI agent. This is such an exciting next step, made possible by Bitcoin and Nostr.

Before becoming a full-time artist, I travelled the world doing photo, videography, and documentary work. A couple of years ago, my dream was to build my own travel platform alongside this to share my adventures and knowledge. My friend and I spent two years trying to create it in our spare time, but it didn’t work out: too complex, too much work, no platform engagement, and everything. On top of that, the web is dominated by big tech companies and their centralized apps. Without investors or major capital, success felt nearly impossible.
But times have totally changed, and what I’ve always wanted is starting now. No boundaries or excuses to create. With Bitcoin, Nostr, and AI, I can build everything I want. Now I’ve got my traveltelly.com website up and running in just months. Okay, it’s not perfect yet but it wasn’t when we built it “manually” either. What also helps is that it’s all connected via the Nostr protocol. When I see a cool “vibe” code idea from someone else, I can use it in my own project. Many cool Nostr things I spot, I add myself to my TravelTelly product.

Creating creative community projects is now easy and an amazing way to interact with the Nostr community. I create a project, add the idea to the Shakespeare.diy website, and it appears on my site—letting me focus on the art while sharing the project on Nostr at the same time. I can now launch new projects much faster and easier, focusing more on creative concepts and art creation. AI has mostly become a tool to share my art ideas and work faster. How does it work
Go to shakespeare.diy, connect your Nostr account, and start building. Just tell the AI what you want to create. You’ll find many options for AI agents and deployment choices. I connected my website URL to GitHub, I push AI updates to GitHub, and my site updates automatically. You can buy credits for advanced AI models like Claude, payable via Bitcoin Lightning and build what ever you want. The Soapbox team (especially Chad) helped me set up this workflow.
