Remembering Dad

Remembering Dad
Thank you for everyting!

Dad, I just want to say "Thank you for everything".  Together with Mum, you gave Romayne, Julie and myself a fantastic family life - everything that we could have wanted or asked for.

Together with Mum you introduced us to Gran and to Nana and Papa and Aunt Sheelah - thank you for that.

You gave us a fantastic family home.  We started out in Glenmillan which we outgrew when Romayne and Julie arrived and we moved on to Holywood which we built up from the foundations.  This was our Family Home.

I have happy memories of all of the holidays that we did together - Port Stewart, Portrush, Portballintrae, Lough Erne and even in the South of France. Thank you for those.

You supported us all in everything that we did. I know that we both look back and laugh at that day I was summoned to the school to explain my university choice! Nobody was going to stop me but your support was precious and appreciated.

When we grew up and we moved away, as I did to UK and eventually to Belgium and on to Hong Kong you supported us all the way.

When new family came along, you embraced them.  Thank you for welcoming Vivian and Kilian and everything that you did.

I know that the last few years have been difficult. Following Mum's stroke you showed unrelenting love and care for Mum during those difficult years. After Mum left us you were a tower of strength and force - living your life independently and always appreciating the family first.

Thank you for everything. We will miss you enormously - terribly - we love you very much. At this time we also remember Mum.
