🇪🇸 This week V and I have been enjoying some quiet time here back in Palma de Mallorca. We have been really busy for the last few weeks so it is nice to just be able to do our own things here and not have too many obligations. In the coming weeks we have family and friends visiting us here on the island so there will be plenty of things going on.

V has also been refining the plan for things over the summer, including my birthday and a few other family events. Since this involves the Belgians travelling there is plenty of opportunity for thing to go wrong so V is using her superpower to manage all that - nice! Hopefully we will get nice weather - that is not always guaranteed. It would also be nice if the local infrastructure was working - that was not the case last year.

Midweek we had the regular Bitcoin meetup round at Ventura Bar. It was nice to meet up again with Chris and all the others. He is is preparing for the Mallorca Bitcoin conference here in July. It was nice too to have a new ATH BTC price, but as we say: the more you know about Bitcoin, the least interesting thing is the price! We did also have some good discussion about Monero; it is particularly interesting technology and since the launch of Tari interest in Monero and decentralisation of mining has significantly increased.

On Friday we had an influx of the Belgian side of the family - coming to visit us here for a while. Needless to say, V has lots of things planned and this ends our quiet week!

On Sunday we have yet another Bitcoiner Brunch. A few of the crowd are heading off around the world (as one does). It's good to have these face to face meetups to establish and build personal relationships and contacts with like-minded and intelligent folk with whom you can have some good discussion on many significant topics.

Book and Thread of the week

For the last couple of weeks I have been re-reading a book that I have mentioned before. This time I complemented my reading with the audiobook - this has significantly improved the experience and I have learned so much more from the book this time round. It is mind-blowing and you should really give this one a go.

Recall R2D2 projecting Princess Leia, begging for Obi-wan Kenobi's help - that was a hologram. Holograms are even much more interesting; when you make a hologram (using laser light) you can break the photographic plate but each part of the plate can regenerate the entire hologram! When you look at things around you they appear in the distance; in reality the image is on the back of your eyes but your brain "projects" it out to where you "see" it. Close your eyes and visualise your favourite place - imagine walking around it, picking up objects and looking behind things; what is different about this image than seeing it with your eyes...or maybe in a dream? Perhaps now you see where all this goes?

I'll be honest, the first time that I read this I struggled a bit with the Hologram idea, taking things too literally. As I explained above Hologram is just the closest (imperfect) analogy we have to what is explained and it is necessarily incomplete in some instances but it does incorporate the essential points. Reading the book again, with the audiobook makes everything clear and easier to take on board.

Fascinating topics include: where your memories really reside, the power of mind-over-matter, self healing, placebo, LSD and connections beyond what you know to mention but a few.

For those of you who still prefer a visual explainer this next short explainer is one of the best that I have found. What should be particularly disconcerting was Michael's untimely death - as you will discover there are many vested interests that do not want you to know these things.

If you need more, there is a deeper explanation here from Fexl. When I pull the threads on this I get back to Rupert Sheldrake's Morphic Resonance (book here) among other things. Another likely related and highly recommended read is: The Kybalion. If you prefer to watch something, go back and check Rupert's Banned Ted Talk.

Another of the threads is Holotropic breathing. I don't think that I have mentioned this to you before. It is really rather interesting and it is known for having similar effects to LSD but without any drug. This should also make you think about the traditions of "breathwork" that the Empire is quick to dismiss or vilify. Dan's explainer on this is rather interesting with many totally practical tips.

The following are updates from some projects that I am following, supporting and collaborating with. What are your projects?

Vibe coding - this is absolutely insane!

You will be aware that I have plenty of reservations about so-called AI. That said, burying your head in the sand and ignoring it is certainly not the right thing to do. I have shown you how you can have anonymous access to all of the current latest models without the need to create any account and this does allow you to experiment safely.

You may (or may not) have heard about "Vibe Coding". I hadn't until a few weeks ago and then I started to investigate. Wow - you really need to understand what is going on and what is coming down the pipe. This next one is a good explainer. Watch it - or at least watch the first few minutes and then reflect on the implications.

I can remember when I progressed from Pascal and C code into Object Oriented programming. For me, this was a big step but once there, there is no going back. I think this latest technology may well be an even greater step and it will affect more people. WDYT? What is your experience, if you are doing this?

So much noise and distraction

I hesitated to include this one but it is rather interesting and has contrarian elements that should make you think. James O'Beirne is a former Bitcoin Core developer and he criticises Core's focus on mempool issues rather than fundamental protocol improvements needed for broader adoption. Such improvements could include covenant proposals like CTV with positive implications towards greater Bitcoin scaling.

The conversation also covers OpReturn policy debates, institutional ownership risks, vault technology benefits, Lightning Network progress and the challenges of achieving consensus for soft fork activation in the Bitcoin ecosystem.

I am concerned that all the noise around this and a few other (similarly) peripheral issues may well be a vector of attack being used by the Empire to discredit Bitcoin and to cause dissent. It is important to see through this and stay on track.

Localsend - simply the best

I don't think I have mentioned this before but it is a piece of magic that you need to have and use. Each of the big tech vendors has a solution for their platform but they will not facilitate cross-platform transfers - they want their lock-in and walled garden. Localsend fixes that and this is a great little explainer that will take you step by step through using it.

Simply the best solution for sharing files between iOS, Android, Linux and Windoze.

Time for straight talking

Maverick's time is here. He gives you the clearest possible explanation for the current nonsense you see Stateside and the likely consequences. He also gives you dozens of factual and objective data points and clear analysis. Listen and open your eyes. BTW, it is not just in the US that things will deteriorate - consider the concurrent nonsense in Europe and UK. It's almost like it is planned this way!

Google is even worse than you thought

Thanks to UE for this latest summary of the unethical and society-destructive strategy and actions that Google is systematically acting on. This is an unemotional and rather clear explanation - I do recommend that you listen and wake up to what Google is doing.

I find it amazing that Google.com gets 100 Billion visits per month and this is more than 10 times what even Facebook gets. I encourage you to do everything you can to reduce your use of Google services - we have discussed this before and I find that Kagi is a great alternative search service. You will also find great AI services that you can use anonymously and that give you much better answers with less friction and they allow you to choose which supplier you use (ie NOT Google).

She says it all rather clearly

I do recommend that you take a few minutes to listen to this excerpt from a full interview of Whitney Webb. Whitney hosts an independent podcast called Unlimited Hangout and is the author of the books "One Nation Under Blackmail" Vol 1 and 2. Her work aims to highlight under-reported issues and find common ground between people of different political persuasions regarding corruption, government overreach, the lack of accountability for militaries and intelligence agencies, and the military industrial complex.

They are now going to push again the things that they could not get through during the Covid Crimes. The Law of Karma does apply and they will do everything to make you "agree to" or "consent to" what they impose upon you. The discussion on how movies are used to manipulate populations over time should catch your attention.

Something positive

Last link for this week is something positive. Laura is an interesting character. She has done a few rather interesting videos over the last few years - eg this one. From time to time it is good to check in with what she is doing:

It is certainly the case that as you get older the old injuries and issues tend to resurface and you realise that injuries usually do not get better with time. So the sooner you take care of things, likely the better they will turn out!

🤔 Closing Thoughts

A couple of thoughts to round out this week's newsletter. First up is something that you likely have wondered about but maybe never found the truth on - well here it is. After that, picking up on some subscriber feedback we take some of the recent discussion a step further.

Weed - not in the garden

Following on from last week's insights around Alcohol, I have some more around something that you may well have wondered about. The alcohol insights do feel rather obvious if you think rationally. This week's closing thoughts are not so obvious.

Perhaps these truths are obvious with hindsight when you consider how vehemently these things have been suppressed over the years by Governments that want to keep people in a state of fear, submission and under control. More here, summarising this and last week's discussion.

On Gnosticism

I do pay attention to feedback and comments that I get from subscribers. I know that I have provoked a few "Christian" subscribers with some of the Gnostic videos, not to mention those on alternative belief systems. Well this short explainer is rather interesting and I do recommend it.
