245 - Full circle again
ππ° This week I again got to do my regular hike from DB to Mui Wo. This is one of Hong Kong's well-known hikes and it's a good one to work up some sweat. This is the sixth year in a row that I have been back at the same spot to take the same photo - check out the previous visits in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and here we are again in 2026.
Over the weekend we had Halloween celebrations in HK. I had a most enjoyable evening out around town - you can see some pictures below. It seemed that everyone was out and about, many in fancy dress, and all were having a good time. I was particularly impressed by those at the waterfront with their remote-controlled model trucks going in convoy towards Wan Chai! I also enjoyed reading Larry's insights; you may or may not fully agree but it is good to consider and reflect.

This week I have also been taking care of some necessary administration for the Empire. This being Hong Kong, you can either do it yourself or you can pay someone to do it for you; the latter being the preferable option, although you likely do appreciate by now that it would be better to eliminate such nonsense altogether.
In addition to that we got to do all the usual HK things. This week we got to Happy Valley on Wednesday evening and we met up with friends here. I'm hoping to meet up with friends who are visiting HK in the near future too. V has lots of things planned for this coming weekend - so more on that next week!
Interview of the week
I was delighted to see that Gloria Moss was back for a follow-up discussion with James. I have her books, and have recommended them; you should refresh your memory of her previous interview here.
In this latest discussion, Gloria begins by criticizing the switch-off of BT's copper network, scheduled for January 2027, arguing it threatens national communication resilience and population health. There is also plenty of Empire corruption smell around what has been done and you likely did not hear anything about this from mainstream.

She goes much further, advocating for the Natural Common Law People's Court, which has issued guilty verdicts against telecom and government figures based on interpretation of divine and common law.
Going deeper still, she links this to a broader critique of the Norman Conquest and top-down governance, contrasting it with historical Anglo-Saxon legal structures. She also does a deep dive into the legitimacy (or otherwise) of the current Royal Family - the findings are seriously interesting. She encourages public self-education and engagement to raise awareness and to support next steps. You will be surprised by some of these claims but do take the time to listen and read the supporting evidence in the linked notes above. The implications are certainly far-reaching.

Halloween around Hong Kong
π οΈ Project Updates
This week I am concentrating on Photography in addition to my normal projects. I have had great fun with my new (to me) camera. I'm also sharing a rather informative discussion with Jeff Booth, along with pointers to refresh your memory on previous related discussions. What are you doing?
Out on the street
Before setting out on our travels, I gave away all my cameras since I could not carry them with me and it felt wasteful to store them in HK for occasional use. Last week I got my new (to me) camera. It was such fun to have a real camera again (as opposed to phone camera). It does change how you take photos - listen to Frank's excellent explainer below and maybe try it yourself.
Frank gives a very clear explanation and demonstration of 10 simple techniques to help you get excellent photographs. Once you see this, you will wonder why you did not realise these things before! It's easy, once you know how.

Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III
For those who wonder what camera I got and what you can do with it, this is the comprehensive explainer with most of the features explained. Listen and learn!

Yes - I agree that Olympus is crap at naming things, but the camera is GREAT!
Debt-based money is unethical
I think that most people realise by now that "something is wrong with the money". The wisdom behind this has long been known but it has been consistently and even brutally repressed by those who control the debt-based system - you likely never appreciated the full story behind the "money changers being thrown out of the temple".
For a refresher click here to remind yourself of the Four Horsemen documentary and the implications. Then click below to listen and learn from Jeff's recent interview.

The truth is out there for those with eyes to see and ears to hear. I have previously shared this important evidence with you, including a deep dive on Red Symphony - something you were surely never taught in school.

One year on - progress is good
I was delighted to see Foci's one year update after he dropped all of the big tech applications and went fully onto FOSS (Free and Open Source Software). Listen and learn as he shares his insights - I also learned a trick or two. Thanks!

π Links for your edification
The following are links from my Liferea RSS feeds - learn, enjoy and share.
The operating system is belief
Who is running the world? This video argues that modern societies are governed by a layered, autonomous system rather than individual politicians. Key drivers include institutional continuity, a moral-free monetary system and shared belief cycles spanning generations.

Click to listen to the answer - it may well surprise you. This is AI content, but recommended.
Elections merely rotate the players while the underlying power structure persists.
Ultimately, the system behaves like a living organism where citizens unknowingly reinforce its grip through inherited assumptions and a belief in their own powerlessness. Now that you know this, what will you do differently?
You can't unsee it!
CTO Larsson is back with further insights that you would do well to watch. He analyzes why the traditional linear life plan is failing due to unsustainable Western debt and the exponential collapse in the cost of AI intelligence. As the cost of human-like agency nears zero, he argues that reliance on state systems is no longer a viable strategy for the future.

He suggests the solution to protect yourself from what is surely coming is to transition toward owning scarce assets that cannot be replicated by artificial systems. These include leading technology equities, commodities, and secure trust networks to ensure personal financial independence.
Can you see it yet?
At the risk of flogging a dead horse, it's time to share further insight into how unethical and ridiculous the current AI financing bubble is.
Dr Erol Brandt explains how companies push excess inventory into distribution channels to artificially boost sales. He explains how this practice often stems from Goodhart's Law, where the desire to hit performance targets compromises the accuracy of financial reporting.

Plenty of evidence suggests that Nvidia may be engaging in this behavior by pressuring customers into accepting early shipments of GPUs, a phenomenon some market participants call Jensen jail. While not a confirmed policy, the practice raises questions about the sustainability of current growth and whether these metrics accurately reflect true market demand for AI infrastructure.
π€ Closing Thoughts
I am closing out this week with a book recommendation. Normally these are up front as "Book of the Week" but I feel this one may be a step further than many will feel comfortable with. Nonetheless, I encourage you to take it. I have had the book for over a year but finally got pushed to read it this week by a local subscriber - Thanks!
Visionary
Visionary is a book by Graham Hancock that explores the mystery of how early humans suddenly developed complex creativity, art and religion. He frames this as a detective story, using a method that combines personal experience with research. He highlights the role of shamanism (a practice involving a practitioner who enters a trance to communicate with the spirit world) and psychedelics (substances that alter perception and consciousness) in human evolution.

Click for summary and chapter by chapter notes
Relying on the neuropsychological model (a scientific framework) he suggests that cave art reflects visions experienced during deep trance states to explain why ancient cave paintings frequently feature therianthropes (mythical beings that are part-human and part-animal).
He concludes by challenging standard evolutionary biology, proposing that human consciousness may have been intentionally guided or influenced by these visionary experiences, rather than emerging solely through random genetic mutations.
I have long been critical of Graham regarding his position on some other topics but this seems to be a solid, academically rigorous and personal exploration account. In it, he covers many of the topics that I think are really important and you will learn from his experience and insight here.
